Participants, wearing colourful outfits and party dress, paraded along the busy streets of Causeway Bay and Wanchai, to raise awareness about the community and promote equality.

A spokeswoman for the organisers, Connie Chan, said she hoped the government would do more to educate the Hong Kong public to minimise discrimination against gay groups.

She expressed the hope that one day the government would support the parade which she said could be another attraction for tourists.
