| European stock markets closed sharply higher, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares up 1.81 percent at 5,901.07 points. In Paris, the CAC-40 index jumped 1.52 percent to 3,427.92 and in Frankfurt the DAX 30 advanced 1.67 percent to 6,766.67 percent. | |||||||
