A top mainland official has
called on the US to loosen its
export controls as a way of
tackling the trade deficit. He
made the comments as
Vice-President Xi Jinping
prepares for an official visit
to America this week. Vice
Minister of Commerce, Gao
Hucheng, said both countries
should make efforts to address
the deficit which reached a
record high of over 295 billion dollars in 2011. Mr
Gao said China is interested
in buying technology products.
