Samaras tries to form Greek coalition


The leader of the New Democracy party in Greece, Antonis Samaras, is trying to form a coalition government after yesterday's general election.

New Democracy will still be the largest party in the new parliament but -- given that a majority of Greeks voted for parties opposed to the EU-imposed austerity programme -- he is expected to face considerable difficulty in forming a government.
