The Cathay Pacific Flight
Attendants Union says many
cabin crew are exhausted and
finding it difficult to cope
with the increasing number of
midnight flights which involve
flying two sectors.
The union
says cabin crew are not given
enough time to rest on these
so-called "red eye flights".
It's petitioned the government
and urged the Civil Aviation
Department to look into the
matter.
The chairwoman of the
FAU, Dora Lai, says although
such flights are on short haul
journeys, the lack of a break
for cabin crew could
jeopardise the safety of passengers.
