The incident happened shortly after Mr Leung began addressing the audience in North Point. One egg struck the Financial Secretary, John Tsang, in the head. He was sitting next to Mr Leung. Witnesses said the Development Secretary, Paul Chan, was hit on the hand.
After the forum, Mr Leung condemned the actions of the egg-throwers.
The police deputy district commander for Eastern, Cecilia Ng, said three men were arrested on suspicion of common assault and disorderly conduct.
The Chief Executive said what
happened would not deter the
government from holding
another forum tomorrow.
Addressing one of the concerns
raised by the audience, the Financial
Secretary said he understood
the problems faced by the
middle class, and he would see
what measures he could take to
help them in his next budget.
