Pro-establishment lawmaker James Tien said the request from fasting students for a public meeting with Chief Executive CY Leung may be difficult to achieve.

Mr Tien had visited the students earlier on Friday and talked to them.

"They want an open discussion. I told them private meeting may be more appropriate," He said.

Mr Tien said he has already conveyed the request of the students to the Chief Secretary Carrie Lam.
