Backchat
On today's Backchat, we're looking into school dropout rates.
This comes after local NGO Youth Outreach warned that over 20,000 Hong Kong school pupils are at risk of dropping out, with 60 percent reported to be below 15.
The group is calling on the Education Bureau to strengthen its reporting mechanism, stressing that the current system in place may not be strict enough. Under the current guidelines, schools have to report pupils who are absent for more than seven consecutive days but those coming for just an hour a week are not counted.
After 9:45, we learn more about the new traffic regulations taking effect on Saturday.
