Fiji, often acclaimed as a tropical paradise, is an island nation situated between Australia and New Zealand in the South Pacific. Coral reefs, nurtured by its natural environment, serve as habitats for a myriad of precious marine life. However, this country is grappling with an impending climate crisis. The rising sea levels are poised to displace coastal communities and wreak havoc on industries vital to the local economy, such as agriculture, fisheries, and tourism. Ultimately, climate change and extreme weather events will only exacerbate food insecurity and poverty in Fiji. During the 2017 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP23), held under the presidency of the Fijian government, Fiji spearheaded the negotiations and pledged to achieve 100% renewable energy usage by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. How is Fiji actively working towards these goals on multiple fronts? Furthermore, how does the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pacific Office support the local government's initiatives by facilitating the launch of blue finance projects and nature-based solutions to counteract and adapt to the impacts of climate change? Fiji, a Pacific Island Country with deep-rooted ties and longstanding diplomatic relations with China, has seen significant collaboration under the Belt and Road cooperation agreement. In 2023, the "China-Pacific Island Countries Juncao Technology Demonstration Center (CPICJTDC)" was inaugurated in Fiji. This centre focuses on the cultivation of Juncao, a fungal grass lauded as the "grass of wealth" and the "grass of happiness," with China possessing and sharing the original planting technology. This innovative application substantially bolsters the Pacific island countries' ability to ensure food security and combat climate change, setting a remarkable precedent for global sustainable development. How are China and Fiji working together through this groundbreaking project to address the challenges posed by climate change? He developed the ARC robotic automation system which is globally recognized and adopted by the government and the space research center. The platform can make the construction and inspection industry safer and more secure. San is also recognized as The Leaders of Tomorrow in TatlerAsia Gen. T list 2023 for his contribution. After his further studies in the United States, he find that life is full of possibilities and has started his own robotic dream. In the programme, he will share with us his personal stories on the path as an entrepreneur and his ups and downs in this journey.

As Hong Kong's population rapidly ages, the society is entering an era of extreme aging, leading to increased demand for basic support for the elderly and their carers. According to the Social Welfare Department, as of 30th November, 2023, there were over 14,000 people waiting for Care and Attention Places and over 2,000 waiting for Nursing Places, with the longest wait exceeding a year and a half. The government initiated the Greater Bay Area elderly care plan as early as 2014, such as the Residential Care Services Scheme in Guangdong, which has been in operation for over a decade. How effective has it been? What considerations and concerns do grassroots elderly have when contemplating retiring in the Greater Bay Area? The “wuxia” genre of Chinese fiction highlights martial arts and chivalry, recounting the stories and adventures of martial artists in ancient China. This form of historical fantasy has become hugely popular worldwide thanks to comics, television, dramas, films and video games. Hong Kong writer Wong Cho-keung better known by his pen name of, Wong Yee, is famous for his wuxia and science fiction novels. Now some of those novels are being adapted and published in comic form. The Jao Tsung-I Academy Gallery is currently showing 48 works by six emerging local artists. They are William Ho, Brenda Hui, Cheung Yung-ka, Kenny Ip, Silver Qian and Daisy Dai. The exhibition is organised by the academy, in collaboration with the Sun Museum, to highlight talented young artists and to encourage their ongoing development. Since returning from the United Kingdom in in 2020, jazz pianist Jerold Chu has established himself not only as a keyboard player but also as a bandleader and producer. A former student of music composition for film and television, jazz vocal performance, and the history and sociology of music, Chu performs in a variety of musical styles, as well as with his band, Jerold and Friends.
