Just two more legs remain. After starting the race 41 days ago on Canada’s Pacific coast, the teams now have the Atlantic within their reach - lapping the shores of the seventh checkpoint at the seaside town of Liverpool, Nova Scotia. To reach it they’ll be heading through the Maritimes – New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia – Canada’s three smallest, and famously friendliest, provinces. To keep their lead, Zainib and Mobeen aim to test the local hospitality to the limit but a trip to catch a naturally occurring phenomenon - on a sinking raft on the highest tide in the world - may derail all their hard work. Claudia and her dad Kevin are running on fumes and, with costly taxis out of the question, need emergency surgery to mend their ailing budget in order to stay in the race. But a bad start – where they end up spending money to go backwards - makes their challenge even more difficult and in desperate need of some luck to dig them out of a big hole. After faltering in the last leg and dropping into last place, the stress of the race is beginning to get to best-friends Tricia and Cathie. Can they mend their differences and get themselves back into a strong position in time for the final push to the finish line? A string of failed attempts to hitchhike shines a light on the obstacles Monique and Ladi face. The only team remaining to have not won a leg, it’s now or never if they are going to turn themselves into genuine contenders. As the finish line draws ever closer, the teams have to battle fog, torrential rain and the spotty Canadian transport system to gain an advantage. But only one can be first and one step closer to the all-important £20,000 cash prize. The thrilling unpredictability of the race is sure to change the teams lives forever. The didgeridoo, a wind instrument used in both ceremonial and informal settings, is an iconic symbol of Aboriginal Australia. Later in the show, didgeridoo performer William Barton, conductor Luke Dollman, sheng player Loo Sze-wang and William Lane of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble will be joining us to talk about their upcoming concert featuring the didgeridoo and other instruments. On show at Boogie Woogie Photography are 20 silver gelatin prints by American photographer Louis Stettner, best known for his black and white images of New York City and Paris. Originating in hip-hop culture and the block parties of New York’s Bronx district in the 1970s, breakdancing made its first appearance as an Olympic event this year. While its inclusion has been controversial, Hong Kong has its own aspiring breakdancers and athletes who want to elevate the dance form as a sport.

The core agenda of the 2023 United Nations Climate Conference COP28 is to seek consensus on collectively addressing climate change. Discussion topics include global stocktake on countries’ emissions reduction progress, funding for compensating Loss and Damage, protection of forests, carbon market regulations, and more. How do these global climate issues connect to Hong Kong's economy and daily life? How can we address climate change through altering dietary habits and consumption patterns? COP28 is one of the most well-attended climate conferences in history, with an emphasis on encouraging the involvement of diverse stakeholder groups and civil society, especially indigenous communities and young people. After participating in the conference, what heartfelt insights do Hong Kong's youth representatives have regarding climate issues and their personal growth? In 2020, a survey by the Census and Statistics Department on the Willingness to live in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area revealed that over 220,000 individuals were very or quite interested in living or retiring in mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area. Among them, seniors aged 65 and above, including many middle-class individuals, formed the highest proportion. What measures and policies has the government implemented to assist the middle class in retiring in the Greater Bay Area? The domestic market offers integrated medical and elderly care apartments, providing the middle class with rental and ownership options. Elderly residents in the mainland benefit from a more economical lifestyle, saving significantly in food, accommodation, and transportation. Leveraging national healthcare insurance helps offset medical expenses. Furthermore, initiatives such as medical measure provide added medical convenience for Hong Kong residents. With mutual benefits and complementarity between the two regions, it's believed that seniors are presented with an additional retirement choice.

In the childhood of gehu virtuoso Tung Hiu-lo, a cello bought by her parents was her constant companion. Since then, music has left an indelible mark on her life. Today, she shares her musical skills with her son, hoping music will be a lifelong companion for him as well. In this episode, we invite Tung Hiu-lo to share her journey in music. Tung Hiu-lo graduated from the Department of Orchestral Instruments of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She was the youngest section leader in the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra and has been the principal Gehu of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra since 2005. Kwok Kin, who was born with 10% vision, loves photography. Even though he can only see things within 0.3 metre, his passion for photography is unbridled. He cannot see things clearly with his eyes, but he feels the world with the rest of his body. The other senses of visually impaired people, especially their sense of smell and touch, are much stronger than normal people. Kwok Kin makes use of this strength to develop his unique world of photography: if he can smell the flowers and feel them blooming in the trees, he can take a photo. The world of photography is not only Kwok Kin’s playground , where he can unleash his boundless imagination, but it is also his eyes, allowing him to see. Kwok Kin often goes the long way due to his visual impairment, but because of the long way, he can see more.
