TU vs. VOUS
朋友與前輩、家人與陌生人，法語也有「你」和「您」的分別。
VOUS
- people you don’t know, e.g. waiters, shopkeepers…
- people who are visibly older than you (> 20 years old)
- a group of people, since vous is the plural you as well
- status, is this person your professor or your boss?
TU
- family
- people who are similar ages as you because vous gives distance
- kids
- colleagues, but use vous if there is a difference in hierarchy
- non-human, e.g. talking to their dog, mobile phone
- online communication
