- 澳洲廣播公司一篇報道說，現在在社交媒體上出現了一個潮流，叫 “not living for the weekend”, 即不要只在周末才「生活」。
- 文中的受訪者說work-life balance 是所有人在人生某個階段都要設法解決的問題 (Work-life balance is "something we all grapple with at different points in our lives) ，只有工作會產生被工作束縛住，失去自由的感覺 “we can feel pretty tied down by our jobs and possibly even like we don't have independence while we're working."
- 另一位受訪的心理學家亦說，來見她的客戶大部分都有類似的感覺，包括感到怠倦 burnout。
- 另一名心理學家說，大家收工回到家中立即扒在梳化 face-plant on the couch，然後不停碌手機 doom scroll，這種習慣一但養成就很難戒掉。而攤在床上什麼都不做 bed-rotting，雖然很放鬆，但有機會令我們忽略了要好好照顧自己。
- 專家也指出，雖然將一些活動分散在返工的日子這個做法不錯，但大家還是要看自己的性格比較適合哪一種安排。有些人反而會覺得在周末才進行這類放鬆活動，感覺更自在。

1. Cool as a cucumber
這個短語的由來可能與青瓜的特性有關。青瓜的水分含量高，給人一種清涼的感覺，因此成為冷靜、沉著的象徵。
“The exam is in less than an hour, but I'm as cool as a cucumber.”
考試不到一小時就開始，但我卻仍然十分冷靜。
2. Spice things up
“Spice”原意為香料，後來衍生成為讓事情變得更有趣的意思。
"They decided to spice things up by having a trip to Europe for their anniversary."
為了令今年的周年紀念更有意思，他們決定歐遊。
3. In a nutshell
有簡而言之、總結來說的意思。這個短語常在一些簡報中使用。
"In a nutshell, this restaurant offers great food at reasonable prices."
簡而言之，這間餐廳提供美味的食物，價格也合理。
4. Butter up
形容去巴結或討好別人。
"The bank has to butter up investors because it is in a fiercely competitive market."
這家銀行須討好投資者，因現時市場競爭非常激烈。
5. A taste of your own medicine
表示自食其果，或形容以其人之道還治其人之身。
"After always ordering for everyone, he got a taste of his own medicine when someone else ordered for him."
他平時總是替大家點菜，結果這次有人幫他點了，他才嘗到自己的『苦果』。
