Lando Norris' first F1 World Drivers' Championship win / Wig requirement dropped for some UK courts / Under-16s social media ban kicks-off in Australia / Hong Kong’s Taoist festivals

On Friday's programme, we talked about McLaren's Lando Norris' first F1 World Drivers' Championship win. A former racing driver discussed the significance of Norris becoming Britain's first world champion since Lewis Hamilton.

We then turned our attention to the courtroom, where barristers in the UK have won the right to ditch a traditional headpiece: the wig.

After the break, we took a closer look at how people are coping with the world's first social media ban that was earlier implemented in Australia, targeting under 16s.

And finally, we concluded the show by talking to a historian about a once-in-a-decade Taoist festival to ward off angry spirits.

Latest population trends / Refurbishment of Hong Kong's traffic lights

    Presenters:Danny Gittings and Raymond Yeung

On Thursday's Backchat, we’re looking at Hong Kong’s latest population figures, which saw the number of residents grow for the third successive year. But last year’s increase was only 0.1 percent compared with 0.7 percent two years earlier.

Meanwhile, the number of babies born continued to be outnumbered by deaths with the gap made up by an influx of migrants, mainly from the mainland.
How should we interpret these numbers? Is Hong Kong still on track to reach a population of eight million in coming decades? And how concerned should we be about an ageing population? We’ll ask the experts.
After 9:50, we talk about a revamp of the city’s traffic lights.

    9:05am-9:50am: Latest population trends

9:05am-9:50am: Stuart Gietel-Basten, Professor of Social Science and Public Policy / Associate Director of the Center for Aging Science, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
