And from China to Ukraine, where does Kamala Harris stand on foreign policy, and what implications would she have for this part of the world?

Schools and religion / Light rail collision in Yuen Long / Asian Games

    主持人:Danny Gittings and Rainbow Leung

On Thursday's Backchat, we discuss the case of the Muslim students at a local school who were threatened with demerits unless they shaved their beards.

The school later backtracked, after religious leaders pointed out the significance of beards for Muslims.
But it’s not the first time religious practices have come into conflict with school regulations in Hong Kong. Female Muslim students at another school have previously complained about not being allowed to wear headscarves.
So are some schools in Hong Kong lacking cultural sensitivity? Do we need a law against religious discrimination? Or should non-religious schools be free to set their own rules?
After 9:40, we’ll talk about Wednesday's light rail collision, the second such case in two months.
At 9:55, Jamie Clarke tells us the latest on the Asian Games.
