    Donald Trump's victory

On Friday's Backchat, Global Focus talks about Donald Trump's return to the White House.
The 78-year-old secured over 270 Electoral Colleges and 50.9 percent of the popular votes against incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris' 48.6 percent and is on track to become the first Republican president to win the popular vote in 20 years.
From his felony conviction over a hush money payment to his stance on the January 6 Capitol insurrection, Mr Trump's campaign was riddled by controversies but this did not deter his supporters.
Immigration curbs and trade tariffs are also expected to be high on the president-elect's agenda, although questions remain as to how protectionist the upcoming US administration will be.

Extreme weather in Hong Kong / Fake travel agency page scam

    主持人:Jim Gould and Ada Wong

On Tuesday's Backchat we’re talking about a new survey predicting more frequent episodes of extreme weather in Hong Kong over the next two to three decades.

The territory recorded its hottest summer this year since records began in 1884, and was also hit by Super Typhoon Saola and record-breaking rainfall in September.

According to the study, conducted jointly by three universities CUHK, HKU and HKUST, there'll be a significant increase in the amount of rainfall by the middle of this century, which will lead to more landslides and flooding.

It also says more hot weather, particularly hot nights, will become a feature. As well as talking to specialists about the climate science, we'll also be looking at what we can do as individuals to protect

our health and safety, and what effect such conditions may have at the less well-off end of society.

After 9:45, we talk about fake social media accounts posing as travel agencies offering special deals online.

9:05-9:45am Professor Jimmy Fung, Chair Professor, Department of Mathematics, and Division of Environment and Sustainability, HKUST

9:05am-9:30am Jeff Rotmeyer, Founder of Impact HK

9:30am-9:45am Prof. Jung-Eun Chu Assistant Professor of the school of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong

9:45am-10:00am Ms Fanny Yeung, Executive Director of the Travel Industry Council

9:45am-10:00am Francis Fong, Honorary President of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation
