On Tuesday's Backchat we’re talking about a new survey predicting more frequent episodes of extreme weather in Hong Kong over the next two to three decades.
The territory recorded its hottest summer this year since records began in 1884, and was also hit by Super Typhoon Saola and record-breaking rainfall in September.
According to the study, conducted jointly by three universities CUHK, HKU and HKUST, there'll be a significant increase in the amount of rainfall by the middle of this century, which will lead to more landslides and flooding.
It also says more hot weather, particularly hot nights, will become a feature. As well as talking to specialists about the climate science, we'll also be looking at what we can do as individuals to protect
our health and safety, and what effect such conditions may have at the less well-off end of society.
After 9:45, we talk about fake social media accounts posing as travel agencies offering special deals online.
