    Israel-Hezbollah conflict / KMB's female bus drivers

On Friday's Backchat, Global Focus talks about the escalation in tensions at the border between Israel and southern Lebanon.

UN diplomats have been hard at work trying to ease the situation between Israel and Hezbollah, as the Iran-backed group fired dozens of rockets at Israel in response to the killing of one of its top commanders by Israeli forces.
This comes just two weeks after the Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, threatened Cyprus, accusing the EU member state of allowing Israel to use its airspace and UK bases to attack southern Lebanon, a claim denied by the island's authorities.
How are local populations reacting to the looming threat of another conflict involving Lebanon and Israel? And what could the international community do to stop it from happening?
After 9:45, we discuss the role of women in male-dominated jobs, as KMB launches a bus route operated by female drivers only.

Changing spending habits among tourists / Leonard Cohen's "Book of Longing" adaptation

    主持人:Jim Gould and Rainbow Leung

On Tuesday's Backchat, we're talking about spending habits among mainland tourists.

Immigration figures show that about 760,000 mainland visitors came to Hong Kong during the five-day Labour Day holiday, a 19% increase compared to last year. The city welcomed about 560 tour groups, with many attending the Tourism Board's HK$1 million fireworks display, which was part of the city's drive to attract tourists back into the SAR.
But while visitor numbers saw an upward increase, some retailers and hotels noted a drop in sales, with younger tourists favouring historical spots over luxury malls, and some opting to spend the night in Shenzhen where room rates can be less than half of those in Hong Kong.
Have mainland tourists become more frugal? We'll be talking to some leading industry figures.
After 9:45, we learn more about a Hong Kong adaptation of late singer Leonard Cohen's "Book of Longing", which will be performed this Friday and Saturday in West Kowloon.
