There are also plans to encourage more people to take up jobs as tour guides, by strengthening cooperation with local universities.

Child abuse / Chinese medicine recommendations

    主持人:Danny Gittings and Janice Wong

On Thursday's Backchat, we're talking about child abuse. Ten former care workers were this week jailed for their role in one of the city's biggest child abuse scandals in recent years. The "evil and barbaric" acts they inflicted on toddlers living in a residential home in Mongkok have re-ignited debate over the need to better supervise such care centres.

The sentencing comes as the government prepares to implement the recently-enacted Mandatory Reporting Child Abuse Ordinance, which requires many professionals to report cases of suspected child abuse. So is Hong Kong doing enough to tackle the problem? How much difference will the new law make? And how do we compare to other parts of the world?

After 9:45, we'll learn more about a think tank's proposals to give Chinese medicine a more prominent role in the city's healthcare system. Tell us what you think.
