Wetland park developments / Hong Kong Blind Union's 60th anniversary

On Monday’s programme, we’re talking about the future of the city’s wetlands.

In a report released last Thursday, government commissioned consultants have suggested creating a 338-hectares wetland park in Sam Po Shue, as authorities lay out conservation areas around the future Northern Metropolis.
The report also suggests creating an "ecotourism paradise" zone in Nam Sang Wai whilst proposing to expand the current Hong Kong Wetland Park in Tin Shui Wai.
Conservationists have raised doubts over some of the plans, arguing that the size of several areas had shrunk from what was originally announced. In response, the government clarified that the figures were not definitive.
What are wetland parks? How crucial are they to our biodiversity? And can they coexist with urbanisation?
After 9:45, we talk about Hong Kong’s accessibility to visually impaired people, as the Blind Union celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Swearing-in of Subianto Prabowo as Indonesia's president /King Charles' Australia visit: should the country remain a monarchy? Or become a Republic?

    主持人:Janice Wong and Philip Wong

On Friday's Backchat, Global Focus talks about Indonesian politics, as Prabowo Subianto took over as president of the world's third-largest democracy.

Speaking at his swearing-in ceremony last Sunday, the new leader and former military general pledged to work for all Indonesians, in what some analysts see as part of a "rebranding" effort.

Whilst highlighting the need for continuity in economic and foreign policy, Mr Prabowo hinted at taking a stronger stance in combating corruption.

Migrant workers are also expected to be high on the agenda, with new task forces poised to be launched this year. So what are some key policies we should watch out for?

After 9:30, we'll discuss Australia's constitutional future as a Monarchy, following King Charles' visit to the country.

    9:00am - 9:30am: Indonesia new cabinet

9:05am-9:30am: Budy Resosudarmo, Professor in development and environmental economics and Head of Indonesia Project at the Australian National University

9:05am-9:30am: Eni Lestari, Chair of the International Migrants Alliance, based in Indonesia

9:30am-10:00am: King Charles’ visit to Australia
