Lando Norris' first F1 World Drivers' Championship win / Wig requirement dropped for some UK courts / Under-16s social media ban kicks-off in Australia / Hong Kong’s Taoist festivals

On Friday's programme, we talked about McLaren's Lando Norris' first F1 World Drivers' Championship win. A former racing driver discussed the significance of Norris becoming Britain's first world champion since Lewis Hamilton.

We then turned our attention to the courtroom, where barristers in the UK have won the right to ditch a traditional headpiece: the wig.

After the break, we took a closer look at how people are coping with the world's first social media ban that was earlier implemented in Australia, targeting under 16s.

And finally, we concluded the show by talking to a historian about a once-in-a-decade Taoist festival to ward off angry spirits.

Landmark court ruling on public housing rights for same-sex couples / Resumption of multi-entry permits for Shenzhen residents

    Presenters:Andrew Work and Mike Rowse

On Monday’s Backchat, we look at a landmark ruling affirming subsidised housing benefits and inheritance rights for same-sex couples.

Last week, the Court of Final Appeal unanimously dismissed appeals from the Housing Authority (HA) seeking to overturn two previous court rulings in favour of such rights for same-sex couples.
The top court agreed with previous rulings that found existing HA policies discriminatory and unconstitutional. Whilst the LGBTQ community generally welcomed the ruling, some lawmakers are worried that this could put a strain on the city’s limited housing resources.
What’s your view? Can the public housing system cope with a potential influx of applications or are fears overblown?
After 9:45, we’ll be talking about the resumption of multi-entry permits for Mainland visitors residing in Shenzhen.
