Lando Norris' first F1 World Drivers' Championship win / Wig requirement dropped for some UK courts / Under-16s social media ban kicks-off in Australia / Hong Kong’s Taoist festivals

On Friday's programme, we talked about McLaren's Lando Norris' first F1 World Drivers' Championship win. A former racing driver discussed the significance of Norris becoming Britain's first world champion since Lewis Hamilton.

We then turned our attention to the courtroom, where barristers in the UK have won the right to ditch a traditional headpiece: the wig.

After the break, we took a closer look at how people are coping with the world's first social media ban that was earlier implemented in Australia, targeting under 16s.

And finally, we concluded the show by talking to a historian about a once-in-a-decade Taoist festival to ward off angry spirits.

Hong Kong 2025-26 budget consultation / Hospital Authority's plan to reorganise cluster system

    主持人:Jim Gould and Ada Wong

On Tuesday’s Backchat, we’re talking about next year’s Budget, with a public consultation exercise now underway.

The Financial Secretary, Paul Chan, has stressed the need to manage Hong Kong’s public finances more “prudently”, while driving economic development. The city is facing an expected deficit this financial year of about HK$100 billion, twice the original forecast from last February.
Commentators have spoken of a need to cut costs through a variety of measures, including selling land to foreign developers and cutting the salaries of senior civil servants. What would you like to see in next year’s Budget?
After 9:45, we get a doctor’s reaction to the Hospital Authority’s plans to consolidate Hong Kong Island’s hospital services into a single cluster.

9:05am-9:45am: Hong Kong 2025-26 budget consultation
