This week, we bid farewell to Sunbeam Theatre – the heart of Cantonese Opera in Hong Kong. We find out more about the “No Limits” arts festival – where disabled artists take the spotlight. And we talk to a passionate hairdresser and jazz aficionado who turns his salon into a jazz bar on Saturdays, and insists on high standards from his patron.

04/01/2025 - Asif Mohammed Khan - comedian and filmmaker

It’s the New Year and why not start it off with a good laugh. And that’s what Asif Mohammed Khan, a lawyer turned comedian and filmmaker hopes to do in a few days’ time at a special show. Janice Wong met up with Asif who told her about his journey into comedy, his most memorable comedic moments, and what can be expected from his upcoming show:

Swimming in the pool is one thing, and swimming in the open water is something else entirely - especially when you’re sharing the ocean with sharks and other marine predators lurking in the depths. It’s something that’s not for everyone, but artist Judy Gee wants to bring you her experience as an open water swimmer through her paintings. CultureZine’s Ingrid Chen visited her studio in Wong Chuk Hang to have a chat:
