At least 90 people have died and hundreds of thousands evacuated, with experts estimating losses to be in the billions of US dollars after Hurricane Melissa battered the Caribbean last month.
Jamaica was the hardest hit, fuelling conspiracies claiming that the deadly storm was the product of a man-made weather weapon aimed at undermining the government there.
However, an expert we spoke to says there's no existing technology capable of creating or steering a hurricane. So how did Melissa grow so rapidly, developing into a lethal hurricane in such a short timeframe?
