In this week's episode, we’ll continue to look at the work of Yu Ying-shih. He is one of China’s most famous historians and is known for his mastery of sources for Chinese history and philosophy. Professor Michael Puett from Harvard University will tell us how we can understand the emergence of capitalism by reviewing some of Professor Yu’s ideas. Professor Puett was invited by New Asia College, the Department of History of Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Museum of History to give us a talk entitled Culture and History: Yu Ying-shih, Weber, and Approaches to Comparative History.
