In this week's episode, we will look into Hong Kong’s anti-dog movement that climaxed during the ‘Hong Kong Clean Campaign’. Professor Catherine Chan from Lingnan University sheds light on the darker side of Hong Kong’s progressive seventies when thousands of dogs were slaughtered and the restructuring of human-canine relations took place. Professor Catherine Chan from Lingnan University was invited by the University of Hong Kong to give a talk entitled “Blacky, Tramp, and Bobby: The Forgotten Dog Purge in Hong Kong’s Progressive Seventies”.
