Niantic, the company which develops augmented reality game Pokémon GO, is set to build up a gigantic navigation AI model using data collected from player scans of public locations.
The popular mobile game asks players to walk around the city - especially in areas cars can't reach - and scan their surroundings.
There are currently around 10 million scanned locations around the world, with over one million new scans every week, according to a recent blog post by Niantic.
