Ships, Boats, and the Star Ferry
It's another transport themed show, this week, with special mentions of RMS Queen Elizabeth, and the story of The Titanic told in song from 1924, Plus, The Skyboat Song from 1957, and a word of warning from The Duke in 1943... The Slip Of A Lip Might Sink A Ship. Also, Colin has a record featuring the vocals of someone called... Joe Ferry! All that, plus a very special little musical tribute to our own Star Ferry.

Sweet Ukulele

Among the goodies this week, there’s a rare 1928 recording with a neat connection to Colin Aitchison himself, a song about the Sweet Ukulele Maid....with no ukulele in sight! We have a classic, tongue-in-cheek mickey take from the 1959 doo-wop era, and a VERY cheeky 'live' recording of Max Miller, dedicated to the Sunday hikers. Also, a great old sing-a-long with renowned French singer/songwriter who takes us out to sea. And, at the end of the show, a fabulous take on a well known swinging number, in tribute to Steve Lawrence.
