GIST
This year is the 50th anniversary of both the Hong Kong Philharmonic
Orchestra (HK Phil) and RTHK Radio 4! For half a century, both
organisations shared a common vision, to bring good music to the
everyday lives of Hong Kong people. Indeed, HK Phil and Radio 4
have been bringing quality music on various platforms. Broadcasting
HK Phil’s live concerts on Radio 4 is a long term partnership, which has
been one of the most popular programmes for decades.
This year, HK Phil and Radio 4 collaborate again to present
re-discovered vintage recordings in a new angle. Digging the archives
from our library is the beginning. Checking those open-reel tapes is
like travelling on a time machine to experience what our grandpa used
to be. This October, please be prepared to enjoy an incredible musical
journey by listening to some old but valuable live concert recordings,
including Nancy Loo playing Youth Concerto (composed by Liu Shikun
and others) with the Phil in 1974, and Helen Quach conducting the
orchestra in a performance of Hong Kong Festival Suite (a commission
by RTHK in 1966) in 1977. There will be more!
今年是香港管弦樂團和香港電台第四台慶祝五十周年。過去半世紀，兩個信念相
近的團體一直合作無間，為香港市民大眾提供優質音樂生活，多年來共渡變遷，仍
然堅持繼續為樂迷送上最好的演出。回顧過去，香港電台的庫存確實有不少港樂
的經典珍貴錄音！從早年的開卷式磁帶，到八九十年代的數碼磁帶，再進化成近年
的電腦錄音……港樂的歷史一一記錄在這些封塵的珍貴檔案中。
為了共同慶賀生辰，第四台再度與港樂合作，一同重新發現新驚喜。在這些早期
錄音中，找出部分經典，並搜索當年音樂會僅存的資料，為你重現數十年來值得
重溫一次又一次的現埸錄音。精彩片段包括：1974 年由羅乃新聯同樂團演奏劉詩
昆等創作的《青年》，以及1977 年郭美貞指揮港樂，演奏1966年由香港電台委約
創作的《香港節組曲》等。還有更多真經典不容錯過！
