Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are some of the lesser known islands lying on a stretch from the southern Caribbean Arc to the South American sub-continent. These "Windward Islands" are like pearls on a chain.
The population has Amerindian origin but became mixed with European colonization and African slavery. Today, they have an easy-going lifestyle.
Thanks to their authenticity and invigorating beauty, these former British colonies are far from the standard image of the Caribbean.
