    "The Great Unity - Civilisation of the Qin and Han Dynasties in Shaanxi Province” exhibition is running from now until 7th July at the Hong Kong Museum of History. Highlight is three different terracotta warriors of Emperor Qin Shihuang, which are grade-one national treasures and are displayed in Hong Kong for the first time.
    The exhibition displays a total of more than 130 sets of precious cultural relics, including 11 grade-one national treasures, four of which are being exhibited outside the Mainland for the first time, introducing the development of politics, economy, culture, technology and Sino-foreign transportation during the Qin and Han dynasties. Admission is free.

      Hong Kong Tennis Open will be held at the Victoria Park Tennis Centre Court from 4th to 11th January to kick off the ATP season! Hong Kong’s top seed Coleman Wong will compete in both singles and doubles.
      The singles event features four top 20 players, including world number eight Lorenzo Musetti from Italy, first-timer Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan; 2024 champion Andrey Rublev, and his doubles’ partner Karan Khachanov. Wu Yibing, the men’s singles champion at the National Games, who defeated Coleman Wong in the semi-finals, and China’s rising star Jerry Shang Juncheng will also be competing.

      Merry Ballon; Ancient Egypt Unveiled

      The cartoon characters festival, “Merry Balloon Hong Kong”, has already started! The highlight is the large-scale helium balloon parade, which features 20 iconic global and local characters, including Care Bears, SpongeBob, Moomin, Mr. Potato Head, Garfield, Lulu Pig, Little Prince and more. It will be held at the West Kowloon Cultural District on 11th January. Admission is free! Another highlight event is the “Merry Balloon Park”, which features the Giant Bouncy Zone and the Snap & Play Zone. Tickets are already on sale.
      Outside West K, “Merry-Go-Around Town” presents a city-wide stamp collection activity and nine Augmented Reality, AR checkpoints in Hong Kong and Kowloon, where you can take photos with different characters and participate in the lucky draw.

      The annual Brands and Products Expo at Victoria Park has already started and will run until January 5th. With over 900 booths across 12 zones, including 50 food and wine stalls.       WinterFest; Simple Gifts of Joy

      The annual WinterFest returns to Statue Square in Central this year. The focus is certainly on the 20-meter-high, six-storey giant Christmas tree. Eight landmark buildings around Statue Square are joining forces for the first time to present the “Immersive Light Show in Central”, combining 3D projection, lighting effects and festive music.
      Statue Square is like a winter town in a fairytale, filled with giant toys like airplanes, jeeps, spaceships, vintage clocks and puppets, and a miniature train operates every 20 minutes. There are also Christmas carol performances and Santa Claus meet-and-greet on designated days. There’s also a Christmas market, and Chater Road is turned into a “Starlight Boulevard”.

      Ancient Egypt Unveiled; Simple Gifts of Joy

      “Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums” at the Hong Kong Palace Museum is the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of ancient Egypt in Hong Kong’s history, featuring 250 ancient treasures, all of which are making their Hong Kong debut.
      The exhibits come from seven prominent museums and recent archaeological sites in Egypt, ranging from statues of pharaohs and deities, painted mummy coffins, gold jewelry to animal mummies and everyday objects. Some of which are on display outside Egypt for the first time. The exhibition runs until August 2026.
