Clothes have long been an integral(不可缺的)part of society, and they’ve come a pretty long way from the toga and stola that the Ancient Romans used to wear! The speed of their evolution has increased tremendously with time, giving birth to the rapid(迅速的)trend changes we’ve come to know as fashion.
Whilst creativity and technology have facilitated the production of vast arrays of(大量的)designs within short periods of time, sometimes keeping up with what's "in" can be quite a trying(惱人的)task. Today you might read somewhere that black is the colour of the season, but tomorrow someone could just as easily say "white is the new black"(本季流行白色)!
For me, clothes should be something that is both functional(實用的)and stylish, so my tips (although I'm no expert!) are as follows:
- Pick garments that flatter your silhouette(選擇適合你身型的衣服)– not everybody can pull off the neon(螢光)leggings look!
- Buy clothes made of comfortable fabrics(布料)– there's no point in wearing something that makes you itch(痕癢)all over after you put it on;
- Observe colour trends but use them as a reference only – black and white are always safe bets(保險的選擇), but a splash of colour won't hurt (plus it's supposed to put people in a better mood!);
- Most importantly, have self-confidence – what's the use in wearing top designer labels when you don't even feel comfortable in your own skin(若你連自己也不喜歡,穿上一身名牌又如何)?
Fads and trends come and go with the blink of an eye(潮流一閃即逝), but your personality will never be out of date(個性不會過時). So at the end of the day, we’re probably better off wearing something that we look and feel great in. Remember that you're in control – don't let your clothes wear you(是人著衫,不是衫著人)!
BE A TRENDSETTER, AND NOT A BLIND FOLLOWER(成為一個領導潮流的人,不要做盲目的跟隨者)!
